“Sweets, hey, wake up.”

I didn’t want to wake up. I wanted to stay wrapped in the fog I was in right now. The very sexy fog. Last night had been more than I ever dreamed it could have been. Xander had been more.

“Hey, I need to go.”

“What time is it?” I croaked out.

“Four.”

I sat straight up and looked around, wondering what the hell was going on. I mean who the fuck in their right mind got up at four in the morning?

Xander’s chuckle did strange things to me, and then I remembered, in technicolor detail everything we did the night before. And I mean everything. God it was amazing. He was amazing.

It was also a split second later that I realized I was sitting up in bed, naked, with the sheet pooling at my waist. Eyes big, I reached for the end, but I was too slow.

“Don’t you dare cover up when I’m here. Those are mine, and I want to see what’s mine.”

I felt the heat creep up my chest and into my face. I’d never had anyone talk to me that way, and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t like it. The dopey smile gave me away too.

“It’s adorable,” Xander told me. “You’re everything and more that I hope to wake up to every morning. But, I should go.”

My sexed up, sleep-deprived mind wasn’t following anymore. “Go? Why?”

“The girls. Don’t want them waking up and seeing me in your bed or in the same clothes I had on yesterday.”

Oh, that I could handle. I’d admit I thought he was ashamed of me. Maybe he was trying to sneak out of the house before shit got real.

“Candi, look at me,” he ordered. My eyes snapped up to his, and I stared into the angry storm that was brewing. “I will never be ashamed of you.”

“So I didn’t suck?”

“Last night was one of the hottest nights of my life. It was far from sucking.”

I found that hard to believe. He was Xander and probably had a lot of hot sex, and getting with a virgin, single mom was just… normal.

“I see the look on your face, and if you doubt me, you will piss me off. Now go back to sleep like a good girl, and I’ll be back in a couple of hours to help you get the girls up and to school.” When I didn’t say anything he said, “Say ‘yes, sir,’ give me a kiss, and do as I said.”

My lady bits tingled at the command. “Yes, sir.”

Xander leaned over me, and I fell back onto my elbows. I expected a peck, but when his tongue brushed over my lips, I realized I had been wrong. I dodged his request for entrance by turning my head. He grabbed my chin and held it so he looked me in the eye.

“What?”

“Morning breath.”

“Don’t care. Get used to it. I will kiss you often, sometimes in the middle of the night. I don’t give a damn about morning breath.
